F.4 Career Workshop |
On 9th and 10th July, the Form 4 students attended a two-day Career Workshop organised by our teachers at school based on "Career Mapping", a career development tool for senior secondary school students in Hong Kong. Students learned a variety of transferable skills on managing their learning styles and attitudes, as well as a series of career-building strategies.
From the valuable experiences and knowledge imparted by the teachers, the students gained a deeper understanding about the importance of personal growth, setting short and long term study and career goals, and how to transform their plans into actions through questionnaires, discussions, games and other interactive activities. Besides, students had the opportunity to explore different university courses and occupations that best fit their personality traits with the help of a career interest assessment tool - the Holland Code. They also learned how to prepare their Student Learning Profile, as well as, to write an effective Curriculum Vitae, which would provide a solid foundation for their further studies and career development.
After attending this comprehensive and informative workshop, students not only gained a clearer picture of their academic and career goals, but are also better equipped in setting and achieving them during their senior secondary school years.
