Past and Present Hong Kong - St. Paul's Convent SchoolPast and Present Hong Kong - St. Paul's Convent School
A brief history:
St. Paul's Convent School is one of the oldest school in Hong Kong. It was built in 1854.
At that time, it was named French Convent School. The Sisters ran it as a free school for the poor.
The old school was a low simple building with a small chapel next to it.
After the Second World War, the school was reopened in 1945, with considerable expansion on the site.
The name of the school was then formally changed to St. Paul's Convent School in December, 1955.
The current building has six storeys and is well-equipped.
The classrooms are air-conditioned, with televisions and computers.
It has become a well-known school in Causeway Bay.
