These Things I Love

Candles shimmering on the wall,

Reflections seeming rather tall

The comfort of my nice warm bed

Relieves the stress as I rest my head

Windows opened, a slight fresh breeze

Brings in the scent of fresh tree leaves

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring

And that is why I love living!

These I Have Loved

Smell of scented candles filling the air,
Tucked in bed at night with my cuddly teddy bear
A batch of cinnamon cookies, freshly baked,
All kinds of junk food, chocolate to milkshakes
Stars twinkling above on a clear cloudless night,
Making up with a friend after a pointless fight
Collecting colourful sea-shells, from the sea-shore,
Watching dried-up autumn leaves fall to the floor
Flowers in the morning with droplets of dew
A kind shoulder to cry on, when I’m sad and blue,
Cuddled on my couch, reading on a rainy day,
The sound of graceful waves, stroking the sandy bay

All these have been my loves

Things I Love

I like to see the smiles of friends,
They make me strong, they give me joy

I like to hear the sound of nature,
The rustling of trees, the chirping of birds

I like to smell the clean, fresh air,
The fragrance of flowers, the scent of herbs

I like to taste ice-cream of different flavours,
Chocolate, strawberry, coffee and vanilla

I like to feel my soft, smooth pillow,
It lets me rest, it brings me dreams

I like to dream about my future life,
What will I do, how will I live?

These are the things I like to do,

Things that occupy my daily life

What do you like?

Little sister, what do you like?

Pretty dresses embroidered with lace,

Cuddly bears with fat tummies,

Delicious liquorice in red or blue,

And ice-cream on a hot summer day.

Mother, what do you like?

My little girl in pretty dresses,

Her eyes lit up on Christmas Eve,

Her rosy cheeks on a hot summer day.
