In 2025, the school hosted an inter-house Vending Machine Business Proposal Competition, encouraging students to form teams and participate. To equip the students for this challenge, the school organized two days of training sessions led by teachers from the Accounting, Business, Economics, and BTEC departments. Additionally, Ms. Jennifer Lam, the PTA Chairperson, was invited to share insights on the accounting and operational aspects of managing vending machines.
On June 20, 2025, student teams presented their proposals for managing the school’s vending machines for the upcoming academic year. Each team had five minutes to present their plans, followed by a Q&A session with the judges.
The school was honored to host a distinguished panel of adjudicators for the competition, including Professor Hayden K.H. So, Acting Director of the School of Innovation at the University of Hong Kong; Professor Godwin Wong, Resident Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Ms. Jennifer Lam, PTA Chairperson; and Ms. Annette Lau, PTA Vice Chairperson. All four have significant expertise in business and entrepreneurship.
The student presentations were exceptional, and their responses to the judges’ questions were insightful. The adjudicators expressed their admiration for the students’ hard work and dedication during the feedback session.
Ultimately, the winning team was from Mason House, consisting of Isabella Cheuk (F.4S), Sharon Pun (F.4P), Sarina Ng (F.4P), Angel Li (F.4U) and Cherry Chan (F.4L). They will receive certificates and scholarships, with a prize ceremony scheduled for the upcoming Speech Day.
