The SPCS bridging course for Primary Six students aims to facilitate a smooth and successful transition to secondary school. The program, which took place from 17 to 27 June 2024 for SPCS primary students and on 15 July and 17 to 20 July 2024 for students from other primary schools, included a variety of well-structured activities.
On the first day, the students were given a comprehensive school tour to familiarize themselves with our facilities and campus. All students were provided with an iPad to explore our online platforms and enhance their learning.
For SPCS primary students, the course subjects covered English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, STEM, Putonghua, and Chinese as a Second Language (CSL). These subjects focused on developing essential skills such as reading, language expression, mathematical proficiency, and technological understanding.
Students from other primary schools attended the flag raising ceremony on 15 July (Monday) and said morning prayers before lessons every day. They benefited from a tailor-made Bridging Course experience including Choral Speaking Skills, English Language, English Literature and STEM. These subjects aimed to enhance language proficiency, communication abilities, and STEM-related skills which are essential for secondary school life at SPCS.
Everyone had a taste of life as an SPCS secondary student and looked very confident at the end of the course. We wish all our newcomers a successful beginning in September!
