170th Anniversary Homecoming Gala Dinner

On October 5, 2024, St. Paul’s Convent School celebrated its 170th Anniversary with a magnificent Homecoming Gala Dinner at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The evening was marked by a groundbreaking drone show featuring 1,700 drones, sponsored by Shenzhen DAMODA Intelligent Control Technology Co. Ltd., displaying the wonderful results of the first ever integration of aerial performance into a school’s extra-curricular activities.

Themed “Roots and Wings, Now and Beyond,” the drone show highlighted the school’s rich history, the mission of the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres, and our commitment to nurturing Paulinians who will make positive contributions to Hong Kong, China, and the global community.

Esteemed guests, including former Hong Kong Chief Executives Mr. Leung Chung Ying and Mrs. Carrie Lam, as well as distinguished alumna Ms. Pansy Ho and various dignitaries, joined us for this memorable occasion.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Rev. Sister Margaret Wong, our Supervisor and Principal, followed by a cake-cutting and toasting ceremony. We also acknowledged the generous contributions from alumni and friends towards the construction of “MakerSpace”, which will be used to foster personal growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship for our students.

The entertainment programme presented waves of delightful surprises, including a vibrant Chinese Fire Dragon Dance, an AI Fashion Show highlighting student talents, performances by alumni and teachers, and a charming Future Career Fashion Show presented by our St. Paul’s Kindergarten pupils.

The Grand Hall was filled with joy as alumni, parents, teachers, and friends reunited, reminiscing about fond memories and celebrating the achievements of St. Paul’s Convent School. Many took the opportunity to convey their gratitude to Rev. Sister Margaret Wong for her inspirational leadership and dedication to our school.

The evening concluded on a heartfelt note, with special guests joining together to sing “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” delivering a powerful message of hope and unity.
